Get to know our Chair and Vice-Chair for 2017: Councilors Anna
America and David Patrick.
Council Chair Anna America has spent most of her career in the
communications field as a newspaper reporter covering City Hall and
doing communications work for the City's Public Works Department,
Parks Department and Mayor's Office. She has served as the
executive director of Up With Trees and director of the Tulsa
office of Communities in Schools, a national nonprofit that works
with at-risk kids to help them be successful in school. She has
been a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels and many
other community programs in Tulsa. Councilor America is an advocate
for education and community & neighborhood involvement.
Council Vice-Chair David Patrick is a small business owner,
operating an auto repair business in the same location for 46
years. He is currently the longest-serving public servant on the
Council where his guidance and experience is frequently an asset.
Councilor Patrick has been involved in his community for more than
30 years and was first elected to the Council in 1996. He has
steadily worked to eradicate dilapidated buildings in his district
and bring in new businesses. Councilor Patrick is also an advocate
for aviation and manufacturing, industries that employ thousands of
people in the Tulsa area.
