Meetings

Due to the expiration of a temporary state law allowing public bodies to meet virtually, City Councilors will again conduct their meetings in person while wearing masks and staying six feet apart. To protect members of the public, Councilors and staff from unwarranted exposure to viruses, presenters and staff will attend by videoconferencing and teleconferencing via GoToMeeting, an online meeting and web conferencing tool. Anyone wanting to attend the meeting in person must have their temperature checked and wear a mask when entering City Hall.

To provide for public input while observing social distancing, except when required by law, the Council will only take public comment on specific agenda items via email and phone. Interested citizens can email comments on a 5:00 p.m. regular Council agenda item to info@tulsacouncil.org or call and leave a message at 918-596-1976. Comments will still be limited to five minutes total for all items on the agenda. Agendas are typically posted before close of business on Fridays. Public comments must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on the Tuesday immediately before the Council’s regular Wednesday meeting or they will not be included as part of the Council’s meeting. In the case of a Public Hearing, comments will be taken in person at the meeting. Members of the public who prefer to submit comments remotely during the Public Hearing for Agenda item 3a may do so via videoconferencing and teleconferencing by joining from a computer, tablet or smartphone, using the information at the top of the agenda.

Meetings will continue to be broadcast live on TGOV, Cox Cable channel 24, streamed on tgovonline.org and on our Facebook page. These are the safest and easiest ways to view the meetings.

The Tulsa City Council meets on these these dates in 2021 at 5 p.m. on Wednesdays, excluding holiday weeks, in the City Council Chambers located inside One Technology Center in downtown Tulsa. Council meetings are open to the public, and citizens are encouraged to attend the regular 5 p.m. meetings. Items that are scheduled to be discussed at the meetings are posted with the City Clerk at least 48 hours in advance. Agendas for all Council meetings can also be obtained by visiting the Council Office, calling 918-596-1990, or by visiting the Council website.

All City Council meetings are televised live on Wednesdays (with the exception of the 4 p.m. pre-meeting) on TGOV - Tulsa Government Access Television, on Cox Digital Cable channel 24. These meetings are then broadcast again throughout the week. Check the TGOV website for more information.

In preparation for its weekly meetings, the City Council also holds committee meetings on Wednesdays in Conference Room 411 on the fourth floor of One Technology Center. The meeting schedule for the standing City Council Committees is as follows:

  • Urban & Economic Development Committee: 10:30 a.m.
  • Budget & Special Projects Committee: 1:00 p.m.
  • Public Works Committee: 2:30 p.m.
  • Council pre-meeting: 4 p.m.
  • Council regular meeting: 5 p.m.

At various times throughout the year, City Councilors hold special district meetings in order to get to know the residents of their district even better. These are usually held in neighborhoods, and it's a good chance for everyone to discuss ideas on how to improve their community. For more information on the next district meeting, contact the City Council Office at 918-596-1990.
